"A tan is your body's belated attempt to defend itself from the sun." I saw the effects of the sun on my father, who went from being movie-star handsome to old in 10 years. And had to have precancers removed. As a child, I vividly remember watching my mother undergo treatment for her skin cancer. I think part of the problem is wearing sunscreen just isn't very glamorous. But it can do so much to keep your skin from aging, I have become almost militant about recommending it!
